“The comfort zone is the great enemy to creativity: moving beyond necessitates intuition, which in turn configures new perspectives and conquers fears” – Dan Stevens

Ironically no one wants to be dragged from their comfort zone in this 21st century. We are all complaining about our barriers and barriers set by the community. We are not doing much to achieve our dreams and hit the target in life.

Sometimes to get to learn and change our states we need to emulate some life examples of People who have gone beyond their limits, to achieve greatness. They have gone beyond breaking sweat, getting bruises and even their fears. Am not just stating the fear to get hurt but describing the fear of death. Most of us fear death, right?

Anyway, “everyone on earth is afraid of losing his or her life and only few are afraid of losing their time” – Sunday adelaja. That statement is so true that I agree to disagree with it. And at the end of the day we will still die. That sucks, but that’s not the point. You need to see beyond your limit. You need to get out of your comfort zone. Let’s begin looking at the few characters people emulate in this century.

Julius Yego

He is a Kenyan track and field athlete who competes in the javelin throw. Yego is the African record and Commonwealth record holder for the event with a personal best of 92.72 meters. He was just a common guy who started his passion through watching videos on YouTube. He did not attend any javelin classes so that he could achieve his dreams. To most he is nicknamed “Mr. YouTube” because the where he started at.

He won the javelin title at the All-Africa Games in 2011 and at the African Championships in Athletics in 2012 and 2014; at the 2013 World Championships he placed fourth, losing a medal in the final round. In 2014, he became the first Kenyan to win a Commonwealth Games gold medal in a field event.

At the 2015 World Championships he won the gold medal with a throw of 92.72m, becoming the first Kenyan to win a World Championships gold medal in a field event. He won silver at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

That’s but a pinch into the story of this great guy. He went beyond his beyond to achieve success. Grew from a YouTube javelin fan to becoming the top athlete.

Cristiano Ronaldo

FBL-BALLON-D'OR-2017-RONALDO

We all know what holding that Ballon d’Or award means. He has won it five times. But it’s not about the award that amuses me. Even the known Messi as had several of those. It is his dedication to the game that matters. He does his training with much love for his career and fans.

He never wants to fail in the path he chose for himself. He works harder than most players in his team to keep his skills up to trend and better. He goes beyond his beyond, past his comfort zone to achieve greatness.

Sometimes going beyond you beyond means life and death but there are sacrifices beyond our understanding, sacrifices for the betterment of tomorrow and creation of an easier life. I got to watch this documentary of this community that hunts killer whales. Imagine hunting one of the world’s most dangerous predators. It is as scary as hell but they do it for their children and the community. They let go of their fears and stand for a greater purpose.

Another interesting story is about some Masai hunters who risk their lives to steal meat from lions. Strange and daring but hunting is tiresome. Why not take a dangerous road for greater results than wasting the whole day and head home with nothing. Here the clip;
